D&H's 2010 West Coast Technology Show Features Green Solutions
February 9, 2010
D&H Distributing, the major North American computer products and consumer electronics distributor, announces it will hold its 2010 West Coast Technology event on March 4 at the Palms Hotel and Conference Center, Industry Hills, CA. The show will be marked by a festive "Go Green" Aisle, with plans to spotlight up to ten vendors showing as many as 40 ecologically-conservative products and solutions (estimated at press time). Although vendors are still being assembled for this section, D&H is considering products such as energy-saving notebooks, low-energy hard drives, e-readers that conserve paper pages, "green" printers, document imaging equipment and more for this exhibit.
Registration is free to D&H customers, and will begin at 9:00 a.m., with the first of four seminars starting at 1:30 p.m. and the exhibit floor opening at 4:00 p.m. Seminars will be offered from industry heavy-hitters Cisco, Microsoft, Intel and HP. Nearly 600 reseller attendees and approximately 60 manufacturers are predicted to attend.
One lucky reseller attendee at the West Coast Show will win the "Passport" Prize of the day, a gas-saving Vespa S 150 scooter (or similar model) with an approximate value of more than $4,000. In order to qualify for the Vespa prize, attendees must visit all the vendors in the Go Green Aisle as part of the show's "Passport" program. Other prizes will be awarded during the event, including a Lenovo IdeaPad Y550 notebook and an IdeaPad S10 netbook.
The Green exhibit is a complement to D&H's new Earth Day 40th Anniversary Promotion, which runs until April 16, during which time resellers who buy at least 40 eco-friendly products can qualify to win a Toyota Prius.
Beyond the manufacturers mentioned above, leading vendors on both the IT and CE side such as Acer, Kodak, Linksys, LG, NETGEAR, NVIDIA, Ricoh, Samsung, Seagate, Symantec, ViewSonic, and Western Digital will be in attendance at the show, along with experts at the D&H Server Solutions booth.
"We expect the Go Green Aisle to really get VARs motivated. It's a lively and yet very practical addition to the show," said Mary Campbell, vice president of marketing at D&H Distributing. "We take the issue of environmental responsibility to heart at D&H, not just ‘talking the talk,' but actually providing a framework of incentives and product knowledge that can help resellers get out there and market these solutions. This show is a great opportunity to physically illustrate that for our customers."
